In a stunning combination of blue glass with copper base glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.
It has an abstract shape and a glossy finish. This mid-century modern piece reflects the style of the 1930s with a touch of antique charm.

Uranium glass (often called Vaseline glass when it is yellow-green) is special because it combines stunning, vibrant aesthetics with a unique, scientifically-driven “glow-in-the-dark” property and a rich, historical, and slightly dangerous “forbidden” allure.
Here is why it is so special:
1. It Glows Under UV Light (Fluorescence)
The Neon Effect: When exposed to 365nm or 395nm ultraviolet (UV) light, uranium glass emits a brilliant, neon-green, or golden-yellow fluorescent glow.
Irreplaceable Color: The uranium oxide acts as both a colorant and a phosphor, causing the glass to fluoresce. This effect cannot be faked with other materials.
Natural Glow: Due to UV rays in sunlight, the glass can appear to have a soft glow even without an artificial blacklight.

2. The Unique “Vaseline” Appearance
Vibrant Hues: The glass ranges from yellow to deep green, depending on the uranium oxide concentration (ranging from trace levels up to 25%).
“Vaseline” Name: The most popular yellow-green variety is nicknamed “Vaseline glass” because its color resembles petroleum jelly.
