Description:
This is a 1960s Murano glass ashtray, handmade in Venice, Italy. The ashtray is clover leaf in shape, with a glossy finish, made of encased green bullicante technique glass, with a clear outer glass layer.
The bullicante technique was invented by Archimede Seguso in 1936, and consists of multiple layers of tiny bubbles in controlled alignments, giving an effect like boiling water.
The bullicante technique involves the insertion of several layers of bubbles into thick glass. The bubbles are inserted in a grid pattern and they appear at regular intervals giving an effervescent appearance to the glass articles. Also comes with the original Murano glass sticker.
